Plante & Cité is the French technical centre for green spaces and urban landscaping that ensures the transfer of technical and scientific knowledge to professionals. In order to make these documentary resources more readable and visible, the technical centre is creating several collections of works. They are presented on this page in their current form.
A concentrate of information on a timely topic
This historical collection gave birth to this more global project to organize the editions of Plante & Cité. Initiated in 2015, this series of thematic works published annually offers a synthesis of Plante & Cité's knowledge on timely topics. Its format is always identical, like for a journal, and its content is written by the Plante & Cité team and external contributors (professionals and researchers).
Each issue is systematically printed and sent to members. Additional copies are available for sale and old issues can be consulted online (access reserved for members).
Scientific and technical alerts to stay up to date
This collection brings together the watch bulletins and bibliographic reviews produced by Plante & Cité. It can be a thematic watch and/or an analyzed watch such as a summary or a state of the art, as well as a news watch from the scientific and technical press. Available for the most part to members, the documents are only published online and can be downloaded from the Plante & Cité's website.
News monitoring is already edited in a monthly issue, the bulletin "Références Plante & Cité", and its 150th issue has been published in 2022. It is sent by email to all subscribed members.

Operational recommendations to go into a subject in depth
This collection brings together methodological and technical guides from Plante & Cité's study programs. These are in-depth works (50 to 150 pages), that cover issues on technical (e.g. permeable paving) or strategic (e.g. planning documents) topics and give orientations and recommendations for action, generally illustrated with examples. Published mainly online, the books are nevertheless designed to be printed and sold.

Success stories and good ideas to share
This collection promotes feedback (testimonials from actors, projects, research/experimentation results) on topics linked to Plante & Cité's study programs but not only. Their format is free: they can be documents, databases, short videos or even podcasts. Produced by the technical centre team or by others (professionals, researchers, trainers, etc.) on request from Plante & Cité, these feedback are very popular. They are meant to grow.

Summaries and key messages for readers in a hurry
These short formats (4 to 12 pages) are intended for people who have little time to understand the ins and outs of a topic, whether they are decision-makers (elected officials, directors), prescribers or technicians. They present key messages on a given topic. Some are summaries associated with the guides from the "Repères"[Landmarks] collection and provide a first introduction before going deeper into the topic. These documents give pride of place to illustrations: diagrams, testimonials, examples, computer graphics... Mostly distributed online, they are also made to be printed and to serve as a "loss leader" for other works of Plante & Cité.
The first issue of a series entitled "Note aux décideurs" [Note to decision-makers] was published in December 2022 and dealt with the integration of biodiversity into urban planning (in connection with the publication of a guide on the same topic in spring 2022).

Plante & Cité produces a wide variety of documents (survey or study reports, awareness/communication documents, technical and methodological guides, summaries, etc.). Some will be able to feed the collections of works presented previously, but not all of them are necessarily intended to "fit in" this new framework. These documents "out of collection" will be valued online.
Over the years, the logic of projects and the people in charge of their realization, Plante & Cité has experimented different graphic styles for its productions. Work is currently underway to design a "graphic universe" that will help better identifying our documentary resources. To be released at the same time as the collections, it will give a common framework and coherence to all our documents. It will be designed to embrace the diversity of graphic needs resulting from the different projects (for example in terms of illustrations: photos, diagrams, technical drawings, etc.).
